AGENDA
It was discussed that volunteers are needed for the Quarterly Book Sales.
Budget – Donna
Joe Sandfort stepped away from the Treasurer position and Donna Fuller took over. Donna started by thanking all the volunteers who actually make the money and the staff for all that they do. Account balance total is $269,000. Sales did quite well and ended in a profit. Donna reported that the monies are now going to a sweep account which pays higher interest. There are enough funds to meet the wish list obligations.
Software was switched from Square to Clover which Maggie and Ron Hamilton set up. Still in a learning curve but it will save about 2%.
It was explained that the actual Book Store income includes merchandise, donations, membership dues, and book sales.
Library Report
Christine reported on the Adult Summer Reading Program and guest speaker programs. The library is trying to get more copies of popular books for book club.
Brent Husher gave a library update regarding all aspects of the library. He handed out a new brochure that he did to advocate for volunteers and donations. He also mentioned problems with getting access into Harvey Street and that we will lose use of this space in January 2027 when the city re-purposes the building.
Jana reported that the Adult Summer Reading Program had 970 people sign up. 2,605 teens received a free book. There is a new puppet theater. 105 teens won free gift cards from local businesses supporting the programs.
Book Store and Volunteer Report
Joyce gave thanks to the volunteers. 4,244 hours were worked by volunteers in 2025. 40 new people signed up and there are 200 people on the volunteer mailing list.
Plant Sale
A new space is needed for the Plant Sale. Trying to prioritize public spaces as to how long do we need the space to set up for the sale. Had more veggie starts which were a big seller. It was mentioned that the sale will be advertised with the dates on the website and ask for donations.
Membership
It was reported that they have begun using social media for marketing and there were 3,400 views in September. There are 248 followers on Instagram.
Membership dues are going back to pre-covid. 2024 dues were $1,700. 2025 dues were $1,515. Added 9 new lifetime members in 2025 and 4 more this month. Annual memberships were 16 in 2025 and 2 in 2026. There have been 286 memberships in the last 5 years.
